Russia is recruiting mercenaries from China and Africa in Kharkiv region: Zelensky named the countries.
In his Telegram, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported that in the Vovchansky direction, Russian troops are using foreign mercenaries in combat operations. Among them are representatives from China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and African countries.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky himself made this statement.
During a visit to the 17th separate motorized infantry battalion of the 57th brigade named after Kosty Gordiienko, Zelensky discussed with commanders the situation in the Vovchansky direction, the dynamics of military operations, and issues of providing weapons and funding for the brigades. The president also emphasized that the Ukrainian side will not leave the recruitment of mercenaries on the side of the Russian troops unanswered. Additionally, Zelensky awarded servicemen with state awards.
It should be noted that earlier, the representative of the National Guard 'Charter', Volodymyr Dehtiarov, talked about how the Russian troops are trying to strengthen their positions in the Kharkiv region, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi noted the increased activity of the occupiers in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
