Ukraine Uses Maneuverable Missiles: Which Air Defense Systems Can Stop Them.
According to ТСН: The maneuverable ballistics of Russia complicate the work of air defense, as only specific systems can intercept such missiles.
Deputy Director of the Ukrainian electronic warfare production company Anatoliy Khrapchynskyi stated on the air of 'KYIV24' that currently, the Ukrainian air defense includes Patriot, SAMP/T, and IRIS-T systems. He emphasized that only specific missiles, which can operate against maneuvering targets in the final phase of flight, are most effective against complex ballistic targets. These include the Patriot PAC-3 missiles, Aster-30 Block 1 and Block 1NT (for the SAMP/T system).
'These missiles are capable of working against maneuverable ballistics, which Russia is increasingly using during mass attacks,' he noted.
Furthermore, President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Western partners to provide up to 10 additional complete systems, as with the approach of winter, Russia is again resorting to massive shelling of the Ukrainian energy system. This year's threat is particularly serious due to the improvement of Russian missiles.
The situation with air defense remains tense, especially considering new challenges from the aggressor. The president's calls for additional systems underscore the need to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities, especially during winter shelling, which can significantly impact the country's energy infrastructure.
