Electricity supply restored at Chernobyl NPP after shelling.
According to inkorr.com: Electricity supply at Chernobyl NPP has been restored following shelling in Slavutych. The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported that power has been fully restored at the facilities of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant that were de-energized due to enemy attacks. Minister of Energy Svitlana Hrynchuk noted that the radiation level remains within normal limits, so there is no threat to public health.
“Thank you to our energy workers for their quick and effective work! Your work ensures the safety of all Ukraine and Europe,” emphasized Hrynchuk.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also reported that the Russian strike on the power substation in Slavutych caused a prolonged power outage at Chernobyl NPP, which could have paralyzed its operation.
Restoration of safe confinement
As a result of the attack in Slavutych, Chernobyl NPP experienced a blackout, creating an emergency situation. However, due to the efforts of the energy workers, the electricity supply has been restored, including safe confinement, which is crucial for preventing the release of radioactive materials.
Additionally, it is worth noting that the shelling of energy facilities in Slavutych left about 20,000 local residents without electricity.
Thus, the electricity supply at Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant has been restored after the shelling in Slavutych, and the radiation level remains within safe limits. Gratitude has been expressed to the energy workers for their responsiveness and professionalism.
This situation highlights the significance of the efforts of all those working in the energy sector, especially in light of current challenges. It is important to monitor the situation and take measures to ensure stable and safe energy supply to avoid new crises in the region.
