European countries are ready to send troops to Ukraine: what NATO Secretary General said.
According to ТСН: A number of European states have expressed their readiness to send troops to Ukraine if necessary. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte noted that work is currently underway to form a 'coalition of the willing', which will determine how the deployment of forces will occur on land, at sea, and in the air.
'Of course, we are not publicly discussing the details (of sending peacekeepers to Ukraine - Ed.). But I can say that several European countries have expressed their willingness to send troops if they wish. Currently, work is underway to define the exact structure of this 'coalition of the willing': what will deployment look like? What will happen on land, at sea, and in the air, etc.? All these elements are currently being processed,' said Rutte.
What guarantees can NATO offer Ukraine?
NATO Secretary General emphasized that the Alliance can ensure that after a ceasefire or peace agreement, Ukraine will no longer be subjected to attacks.
'Putin must understand that another attack will be devastating for him. There are three levels here. The first level is the Ukrainian Armed Forces. They must be in excellent condition. Of course, they are doing an extraordinary job in this war, but they must also be capable of defending the country after the war or a long-term ceasefire,' Rutte noted.
The second level forms the 'coalition of the willing' led by France and the United Kingdom, with the participation of Germany and other countries. The third level is the United States.
'The American president stated in August that he wants to participate. And now we are working to combine these three elements — the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the coalition of the willing, and the US contribution — in such a way that Putin clearly understands: 'I must never touch Ukraine again,' Rutte added.
Earlier, Mark Rutte reported on the countries blocking Ukraine's NATO membership. It is important to note that such a coalition has the potential to significantly change the situation on the front, strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities amid ongoing aggression. The winds of change that Ukrainians hope for may become a reality if consensus is reached among European states.
