The state returned the Assumption Cathedral: what was found inside the temple.
According to inkorr.com: Today, May 10, the state reclaimed the Assumption Cathedral complex in Volodymyr of the Volyn region. This was announced by People's Deputy Ihor Huz, referring to information from 'Hlavkom'.
Return of the shrine
“The state has finally reclaimed the complex of the Assumption Cathedral in Volodymyr! What journalists saw inside the temple today speaks for itself. George’s ribbons, a portrait of John of Kronstadt – the ideologist of the 'Union of the Russian People', a monarchist and xenophobe… These are not just items. They are symbols of a hostile ideology that has finally been removed from the Ukrainian shrine,” it is stated in the post.
Ihor Huz noted that the state is currently documenting each item in the temple, conducting an inventory and verifying it with the registers.
Expectations for change
“I am convinced that soon services will be held in the Assumption Cathedral in Ukrainian,” the MP concluded.
Let us recall that the Kyiv Metropolis of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) was recognized as having links to a foreign religious organization, the activities of which are banned in Ukraine according to Article 3 of the law 'On the Protection of the Constitutional Order in the Sphere of Religious Organizations'.
Ihor Huz also reported that the Assumption Cathedral in Volodymyr-Volynskyi was returned to the state after an inventory, during which prohibited content was removed. It is now expected that services in the cathedral will be conducted in Ukrainian.
This return has great symbolic significance for many Ukrainians. It is expected that this new phase in the history of the Assumption Cathedral will positively influence the development of religious life in the region and serve as a reminder of the importance of national identity. The introduction of services in Ukrainian emphasizes the aspiration for spiritual independence and the unity of the Ukrainian people.
