Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the attack of a Russian drone on a vehicle of the IAEA convoy heading to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. He noted that this attack is a demonstration of how Russia disregards international law and safety. Zelensky demands a decisive response from the IAEA and other international partners.
«This attack clearly demonstrated how Russia treats everything related to international law, international institutions, and security. The Russians could not have been unaware of their target. They certainly knew what they were doing and acted consciously», the president emphasized.
Zelensky also noted that each similar strike confirms the need to enhance Ukraine's air defense capabilities. He stressed that the issue of providing additional air defense systems depends on political decisions.
