Three saboteurs were detained in Odesa region: they face life imprisonment.
Three residents of the Odesa region committed arson of relay cabinets of Ukrzaliznytsia on behalf of the Russian special services. However, they were caught red-handed, and the suspects face life imprisonment.
This was reported by the Odesa regional prosecutor's office.
Details of the case
One of the suspects contacted an employee of the Russian special services through a messenger. The officer offered the Odesa resident money for the arsons of railway facilities to destabilize train traffic in the city and region. The executor agreed and involved two more accomplices.
In total, the suspects destroyed 3 relay cabinets on the stretch between the 'Odesa-East' and 'Odesa-Sorting' stations. The perpetrators acted according to a standard scheme: they arrived at the facilities, poured flammable liquids on them, set them on fire, and recorded videos for reporting to the customer. The reward for the committed acts was paid in cryptocurrency.
What punishment awaits
The suspect has been notified of suspicion under part 2 of article 28, part 2 of article 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (committing sabotage by conspiracy of individuals). He faces imprisonment from 15 years to life with confiscation of property.
We remind you that recently we wrote about an Odesa resident who set fire to cars. And also about a mother and daughter who committed sabotage for the Russian special services.
The event in the Odesa region showed that the Russian special services are actively involving people in destructive actions in the territory of Ukraine. The detainment of arsonists of relay cabinets has become evidence of citizens' collaboration with Russian special services and a confirmation of the importance of fighting against such threats.Read also
