The Pension Fund recognizes care for the disabled as part of the insurance record: conditions.
Explanation regarding care for people with disabilities
According to inkorr.com: The head of the board of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, Yevhen Kapinus, reported that periods of care for persons with disabilities are counted in the insurance record of those who do not work, according to the law 'On obligatory state pension insurance'.
'This is done under the law of Ukraine, which provides for the inclusion of care periods for able-bodied unemployed individuals in the insurance record, including for a child with a disability, a seriously ill person, etc.', - noted Kapinus.
According to the information, periods of care for the disabled are considered in the insurance record if the person is insured during that time. Currently, more than 12 thousand able-bodied unemployed persons providing assistance to I group disabled people receive social support.
Pensions and social assistance for the disabled
Disability pension for servicemen is granted in case of loss of working capacity during service or shortly after its completion. The amount of payments depends on the causes of disability and the defined group. Persons who do not have the right to a regular pension, including people with disabilities, may be granted state social assistance if their income is low.
Moreover, the deadline for physical identification for recipients of assistance, including persons with disabilities, has been extended to November 1, 2025. This procedure is mandatory to maintain the right to receive state payments, especially for those living in temporarily occupied territories.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine considers periods of care for individuals with disabilities in the insurance record of citizens who do not work, providing them with social protection. The information provided about pensions and assistance for people with disabilities, as well as about the extension of the identification period for recipients of assistance, is aimed at improving the living conditions of this category of the population.
