Pension Length of Service at 35 Years: What Awaits Ukrainians by 2028.
The Duration of Insurance Service of Ukrainian Pensioners
According to inkorr.com: The head of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, Yevhen Kapinus, reported that the average duration of insurance service for Ukrainian pensioners exceeds 37.5 years. He emphasized that achieving the required insurance service for retirement at 60 years old is quite possible, even despite the gradual increase in requirements.
Future Requirements for Insurance Service
According to him, by 2025, to retire at 60 years old, one will need at least 32 years of insurance service. This requirement will increase, and by 2028, pensioners who turn 60 will need 35 years of service. Kapinus noted that to achieve such service, one should start working and making contributions no later than at 25 years old.
Thus, Ukrainian pensioners currently have an average insurance service of over 37.5 years, but the requirements for receiving a pension at 60 years will gradually increase, reaching 35 years of service by 2028.
This information is important for Ukrainians planning for retirement. Given the gradual increase in requirements for insurance service, the younger generation should already start thinking about their professional activities and contributions to the Pension Fund to ensure a decent pension in the future.
