On Wednesday, November 6, the Russian city of Kaspiysk, located in Dagestan, was attacked by drones. The port located in the city came under fire. This was reported by Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) at the National Security and Defense Council.

In his Telegram channel, Kovalenko wrote: "In Russian Kaspiysk, the port was attacked."

According to him, ships of the Russian Navy are stationed in the attacked port.

According to open sources, the port of Kaspiysk houses the following facilities:

  • landing pad for marine infantry training;
  • fuel and lubricant storage facilities;
  • coastal forces arsenal, including marine infantry (the garrison consists of about 1,500 people);
  • testing range.

It is worth noting that the Caspian flotilla of the Russian Navy carried out missile strikes on Ukraine, and the 177th Marine Regiment participated in battles in the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions.

The head of Dagestan, Sergey Melikov, stated that this is the first Time drones have attacked Dagestan. In the morning, air defense eliminated drones over Kaspiysk. He urged not to spread videos of the attack on social media. Local residents and Telegram channels reported explosions and sounds resembling shots. The distance from Kaspiysk to the nearest cities in Ukraine is over one thousand kilometers.
