Russia attacked Izmail with drones: Romania raised F-16 due to border threat.
Russian troops launched a drone attack on civilian infrastructure in the Izmail area. As a result, F-16 fighters were scrambled in support from the Romanian coastline.
Attack on 'Orlivka'
Russian drones attacked the Izmail area, leading to damage at the gas supply station 'Orlivka'. The fire was quickly extinguished, but production equipment was destroyed. In total, 2,500 subscribers were temporarily disconnected from gas supply.
Takeoff of F-16
The radar systems of Romania detected aerial targets in Ukrainian airspace, leading to the takeoff of F-16 fighters for monitoring. No unauthorized incursions into the country's territory were detected. However, further checks and joint actions with allies within NATO are planned.
The Ministry of National Defense strongly condemns these aggressive and unjustified actions of the Russian Federation, which grossly violate international law and threaten regional security
They also reminded of the attack on the Zaporizhzhia region and the massive strike on Lozova in Kharkiv region.
As a result of the drone attack on the gas supply station 'Orlivka' in the Izmail area, 2,500 subscribers were temporarily disconnected from gas supply. Romanian F-16 fighters were deployed to monitor the situation, but no unauthorized incursions into the territory were detected.
