The day before, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Ukraine. It should be noted that this is the first visit of the head of the Indian government to Ukraine in the history of bilateral relations. Accordingly, Modi visited Kyiv for the first time since the beginning of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war. His arrival in our capital coincided with Ukraine's National Flag Day.
The meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi lasted almost three hours. Zelenskyy met Modi at the Mariinsky Palace, and the meeting began tete-a-tete. There was then a meeting in an extended format, attended by other ministers of Ukraine and India, as well as other members of the delegations. Many topics were raised during the negotiations, primarily the issue of the war.
By the way, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Ukrainians on Ukraine's Independence Day. He recorded his video message in Sumy region, near the place where Russia began its offensive against our country.
It was also reported that the United States of America announced a new package of military assistance for Ukraine, timed to Ukraine's Independence Day.
