Tusk on the Situation in Ukraine: A Fatal Combination for Regional Security.
According to ТСН: Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed serious concerns about the current political situation, calling the events a 'fatal combination' for Ukraine and the entire region's security.
In his post on network H, he emphasized:
‘Orban visits Putin, Navrotsky — Orban. Chaos in the negotiations over the Witkoff plan (the U.S. Special Representative Steve Witkoff — ed.) and the political crisis in Kyiv. A fatal combination’.
The Situation in Ukraine
In the evening of November 28, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported significant changes expected in the country in the near future. Among them are inspections in ministries and law enforcement agencies, personnel changes in the President's Office, and preparation for possible negotiations with the U.S.
There is also information that the United States is ready to recognize Russia's control over Crimea and other occupied Ukrainian territories in order to conclude a ceasefire agreement. This 'peace plan' contradicts U.S. diplomatic practice and is likely to be implemented despite the concerns of Ukraine's European allies.
The Peace Plan from Washington
Washington has kept the new peace plan secret even from the EU. According to Politico, the U.S. has 'sidelined' Europe from the development of this document.
In summary, the situation in Ukraine remains tense, and the events may threaten the stability not only of the country but also of the region as a whole. The reaction of the international community to the new U.S. peace plan and changes in Ukraine's domestic politics will be critically important for the next stages of the conflict's development.
