A French woman believed in love with 'Brad Pitt' and lost 830 thousand euros.
The French program Sept à huit showed the story of designer Anna, who became a victim of internet scammers. The scammers posed as Brad Pitt and fraudulently extorted 830 thousand euros from the woman.
Anna, a 53-year-old designer who was married to a millionaire, created an account on social media to share photos from her vacation at a ski resort with her family in 2023. It was during this time that she received a message from 'Brad Pitt's mother' - Jane Ette Pitt. She talked about her son's need for a wife like Anna.
After her divorce from her husband, Anna began virtual correspondence with the fake Brad Pitt. They sent each other beautiful and romantic messages, and she received jewelry and bags as gifts. However, to receive these gifts, Anna had to pay over 5,000 euros in customs fees.
Gradually, the scammers began to manipulate Anna's emotions, telling her that Brad had been diagnosed with kidney cancer and that his accounts were frozen due to a lawsuit with Angelina Jolie. However, when Anna saw the real Brad Pitt and his girlfriend in photos, she realized that she had become a victim of scammers. However, she had already transferred 830 thousand euros to them - all her savings after her divorce from her millionaire husband.
As a result, Anna had a falling out with her daughter, lost the support of friends, and fell into deep depression, even attempting to take her own life. After this, she was hospitalized in a specialized clinic for severe depression treatment.
The plot about Anna caused a wave of sarcasm on social media, so it was removed from the Sept à huit program.
