Infoksvodokanal denies allegations of pollution in the sea near Odesa: what is actually happening.
The Infoksvodokanal company commented on the accusations of deteriorating water quality along the Odesa coast due to wastewater discharge into the sea. Company representatives emphasized that treated wastewater is directed to the Khadzhibey Liman for biological treatment, which should comply with sanitary standards and not harm the flora and fauna.
Reactions from Infoksvodokanal
Algae are rotting throughout the Black Sea, not just in Odesa, and such phenomena are widespread along the entire coast. The quality of treated wastewater meets all standards and is constantly checked by laboratory services. Infoksvodokanal denies the information that wastewater is being discharged into the sea, causing algae to rot.
It is also worth noting that recently there were problems with algae on the beaches in the city, and discussions were held about the cost of recreation in Odesa in August.
Infoksvodokanal assures that the quality of treated water in Odesa meets all requirements and explains similar phenomena as common for the entire Black Sea, not just for a specific city. They emphasize continuous monitoring of water quality and adherence to all necessary standards.
