NBU Head Andriy Pyshnyy Turns 50. The Most Interesting Facts from the Life of the Country's Chief Banker.
The head of the National Bank of Ukraine, Andriy Pyshnyy, is celebrating his 50th anniversary. On this occasion, interesting facts about his life were collected. Andriy Pyshnyy was born on October 26, 1974. He graduated from Chernivtsi State University and the Ukrainian Academy of Banking. Before heading the National Bank, he held various positions at Oschadbank and other banks. Andriy Pyshnyy is a candidate of legal sciences and has many scientific publications. Thanks to his work in the international group 'Yermak-McFaul', he participated in the development of sanctions against Russia. Andriy Pyshnyy also actively helps people with hearing problems, as he himself has hearing issues. He urged Ukrainians to donate to help the volunteer Tata Kepler and, in gratitude, to raffle gifts. Andriy Pyshnyy was born on October 26, 1974, in the village of Dobrovyda, Zbarazh district, Ternopil region. He graduated from Chernivtsi State University and the Ukrainian Academy of Banking of the National Bank of Ukraine. Andriy Pyshnyy had a difficult childhood because his parents divorced, and his mother died of cancer. He worked a lot in the banking sector and held various management positions, especially at 'Oschadbank'. In 2022, Andriy Pyshnyy was appointed head of the National Bank of Ukraine.
Health issue
At the age of 34, Pyshnyy almost completely lost his hearing, so he uses a mobile phone only for video communication. He founded the public organization 'Vidchuy', which helps people with hearing problems. Andriy Pyshnyy said that he does not know how to speak sign language, so he uses ways to avoid unwanted conversations with people.
Family
Andriy Pyshnyy is married and has two daughters. He met his future wife, Lyudmila, when he was struggling after his mother's death. They got married after Andriy's 40th birthday. Andriy's wife was a professional dancer and engaged in athletics. Andriy Pyshnyy mentions that his wife helped him lose weight and get rid of unwanted conversations.
