Georgian civil servants join the protest in Tbilisi.
Officials in Georgia joined the protest near the building of the Parliament of Georgia, where the rally has been ongoing for 14 days. They express their position regarding the current events in the country. According to 'Echo of the Caucasus', the civil servants have two reasons for gathering: the refusal of an application for EU membership until 2028 and reacting to forms of intimidation and violence against them. They call for an end to violence and intimidation. A bill simplifying the process of reforming the civil service has also been adopted in the Parliament of Georgia.
Over the past 11 days, the Georgian police have detained 402 people. In addition, masked individuals attacked media workers and opposition politicians. Law enforcement also conducted searches in the offices of opposition parties.
The Prime Minister of Georgia stated that the country refuses to negotiate regarding EU membership until 2028 and wants to join the bloc with a healthy democratic system and economy. The President of Georgia called the State Security Service's statement about disrupting the presidential elections psychological terror.
