It is noteworthy that the destruction of the Russian Mi-8 helicopter using a sea drone is a historic operation. This was stated by the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, during a television marathon. As Budanov noted, the Magura V5 drones had previously attacked the enemy's air forces several times. However, at that time, Russian equipment still 'managed' to reach the coastline, even though it was hit.
On December 31, 2024, soldiers of the special unit of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Group 13, struck an aerial target for the first time in history using the strike sea drone Magura V5 equipped with missile weapons.
