Meeting of the Kharkiv Mayor with the Secretary General of the Congress
Mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov met with Matthieu Mori, Secretary General of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe. They discussed key issues, including the development of local self-government and the restoration of frontline communities. Ihor Terekhov emphasized that Kharkiv has the potential to become a center for the establishment of a regional office of the Damage Register.The Secretary General of the Congress, Matthieu Mori, supported the idea of the importance of frontline cities in the restoration processes after the conflict, defining them as key partners in working with the Damage Register and other recovery programs.Also important is the signing of an agreement by the Kharkiv City Council with Kyivstar JSC for the amount of UAH 588,000. The contract includes analyzing the migration flows of residents of the city, which will allow better monitoring of their movements within Kharkiv and the region.The mayor's meeting with the representative of the Council of Europe underscores the growing attention to recovery issues in eastern Ukraine, where the role of local self-government is becoming increasingly important. The agreement with Kyivstar also demonstrates the city authorities' commitment to improving conditions for citizens in the challenging circumstances of war.
