Power Outages in Kherson and Kharkiv Regions on March 27: Are Scheduled Blackouts in Effect?.
Energy Supply Situation in Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: On March 27, 2023, residents of parts of the Kherson and Kharkiv regions remained without electricity due to war-related damage and strikes on energy infrastructure. No scheduled power outage rotations were implemented across Ukraine that day, a direct consequence of recent attacks on the country's energy grid.
The previous day, March 26, 2023, Russian strikes on energy facilities caused widespread blackouts in the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions. The heaviest damage was recorded in the Odesa and Chernihiv areas, further worsening the energy supply situation.
Ukraine's Ministry of Energy stated that 'no restrictions are expected to be applied today.'
This announcement, however, does not lessen the severity of the situation in regions where power supply remains unreliable. Amid ongoing attacks on energy facilities, the local population faces significant challenges in meeting basic needs.
The energy supply situation in Ukraine remains critical due to continued hostilities and shelling of vital infrastructure. Disruptions to power systems create major hardships for residents, particularly in the affected areas. The government and energy companies continue efforts to restore electricity, but the safety and stability of the power supply are still under threat from active combat operations.
