New School Year: When Students Can Expect Vacations in 2025-2026.

According to ТСН: From September 1, a new school year has begun in Ukraine, during which students will attend school four times after holidays.

Winter vacations for the 2025-2026 school year are scheduled from December 27, 2025, to January 11, 2026. However, some schools may extend the break until January 18.

The vacation schedule is approved by the pedagogical council of each school, which also determines the duration of the school year and forms of education organization (in-person, blended, or remote).

The terms and duration of vacations may be influenced by the security situation in the region and epidemiological conditions. Schools with in-person learning may experience temporary closures or quarantines of separate classes, impacting the students' vacation schedule.

Tentative Vacation Calendar for the 2025-2026 School Year:

• Autumn: October 27 - November 2, 2025

• Winter: December 27, 2025 - January 11, 2026

• Spring: March 23-29, 2026

• Summer: from June 1 until the beginning of the new school year

It is also worth noting that state and municipal educational institutions are not entitled to require charitable contributions from parents. The Constitution of Ukraine guarantees free general secondary education. Schools cannot deny a child's enrollment or bully them or their parents for non-payment.

The school year and its organizational rules are always important issues for parents and students. Observing holidays and adhering to the rights to free education contributes to a calm and productive atmosphere in schools.
