Kyiv Announces Traffic and Transit Restrictions for February 24th War Anniversary.
Road Traffic Restrictions in Kyiv
According to TSN.ua: On February 24, 2026, Kyiv will implement road traffic restrictions and changes to public transport operations. These measures are connected to the commemoration of the fourth anniversary of the full-scale war's beginning and the arrival of foreign dignitaries. City officials have urged residents to show understanding regarding the temporary inconveniences these security and logistical arrangements may cause.
Public Transport Schedule Adjustments
A key change will be the closure of the "Maidan Nezalezhnosti" (Independence Square) metro station for both entry and exit until 11:00 AM. This decision was made to ensure safety during the commemorative events. Additionally, several bus routes will have altered itineraries.
- Route No. 6ТР (temporarily No. 6АР) will operate only from the Minskyi Masiv to the Povitroflotskyi Shliakhovod from start of service until 1:30 PM and again from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
- Route No. 62 (temporarily No. 62А) will run from the Botanical Garden to the "Tsentralnyi" railway station until 11:00 AM.
- Routes No. 110 and No. 111 (temporarily No. 110А and 111А) will travel from Mykloslavska Street and Darnytska Square via the Havanskyi Bridge to the "Kontraktova Ploshcha" metro station until 12:00 PM.
- Route No. 114 (temporarily No. 114А) will run from Mykloslavska Street to the "Kontraktova Ploshcha" metro station until 12:00 PM.
City authorities emphasize the importance of adhering to the new traffic rules and schedules to ensure the safety of all road users during the observance of this significant national date. Residents and visitors to the capital are advised to plan their journeys with these changes in mind. These annual security protocols are common in Kyiv for major state events.
These measures, aimed at ensuring security on a date of profound national importance, reflect the authorities' commitment to organizing commemorative events safely and effectively.
