Russia's Latest Mass Attack Forces Kyiv to Impose Emergency Blackouts.
Emergency Blackouts in Kyiv
According to TSN.ua: Kyiv was forced to implement emergency power blackouts on February 7 following a new mass attack by Russia. The state energy company, Ukrenergo, issued the order for these emergency measures. Russian forces are continuing their assault on Ukraine, employing a combination of missiles and drones.
Infrastructure Under Attack
The regions of Vinnytsia and Rivne were also hit by a massive air assault, the second such attack this week. Previously, on the night of February 2-3, the enemy used drones and missiles to strike energy infrastructure. Significant damage was inflicted on Kyiv and Kharkiv, severely complicating the power supply situation in these regions. These attacks are part of a sustained Russian campaign targeting Ukraine's civilian energy grid, a tactic that has caused widespread hardship since the previous winter.
These events unfold against the backdrop of Russia's ongoing military aggression against Ukraine, which has systematically targeted the nation's energy infrastructure. Strikes on power facilities create immense challenges for maintaining electricity supply, negatively impacting civilian life and the economy. The situation demands an immediate response from energy companies and the state to ensure stability within the power system.
