North Korea sends 6,000 troops to Russia: what is known about their assignment.
The Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov reported that North Korea plans to transfer about six thousand military personnel and a number of combat equipment to Russia. This contingent may go beyond engineering tasks.
According to a source from The Japan Times, Ukrainian intelligence notes that these supplies indicate deeper involvement of North Korea in supporting Russian military efforts. Previously, Pyongyang has sent ammunition to Moscow, but this new phase may signify a transition from providing resources to forming full-fledged combat units.
'Some of them may be involved in demining and construction, but will all of them perform these tasks?'
Kyrylo Budanov also noted: 'Currently, only three countries in the world have experience in conducting modern warfare on long front lines using a wide range of resources - Ukraine, Russia, and North Korea'.
The Korean contingent of military personnel and equipment that North Korea plans to transfer to Russia indicates an increase in military cooperation between these two countries. These supplies may be significant for both sides in the context of their military strategy and future plans.Read also
