Maxar Company Confirms Shutdown of Access to Its Satellite Images for Ukraine.
The American company Maxar has suspended Ukraine's access to its satellite images at the request of the White House, Reuters reported.
The order from the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has halted the exchange of intelligence with Kyiv, leading Maxar to block access for Ukraine.
The company explained that it has contracts with the U.S. government and other allied countries and partners. One of its programs, Global Enhanced GEOINT Delivery (GEGD), provides access to commercial satellite images collected by the United States.
The suspension of military aid and intelligence from the United States may undermine Ukraine's air defense, as Kyiv will lack advanced anti-aircraft missiles and the ability to track attacks as it did before.
Maxar is a leading provider of satellite images for Ukrainian users, which are used to track Russian troops and analyze events in temporarily occupied territories and in Russia itself.
Information about the cessation of military aid for Ukraine has been confirmed by some European leaders, but Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has not reported on this yet.
