In Prylyuchchyna, a son killed his mother with a hammer on the eve of the New Year.
According to ТСН: In the Prylyuchskyi district, law enforcement detained a 51-year-old man suspected of killing his mother during an argument on the eve of the New Year. He may face up to 15 years of imprisonment.
Tragedy in Talalaivka
The incident occurred on December 31 in a private house in the territory of the Talalaivka community. Upon arrival, the police found the body of a 75-year-old woman showing signs of violent death.
Details of the Crime
Crisis investigators have clarified that during the conflict, the son struck his mother multiple times with a hammer on the head.
“During the argument, the offender repeatedly hit his mother on the head with a hammer. From the injuries sustained, the woman died. After the act, the man tried to inflict injuries on himself, and medical staff provided him with necessary assistance,”
the police stated.
Arrest and Legal Proceedings
The man was arrested under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention facility. The murder weapon—a hammer—was seized as physical evidence.
Investigators, under the procedural guidance of the Prylyuchskyi District Prosecutor's Office, announced suspicion against the accused for intentional homicide (Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). This article provides for punishment from 7 to 15 years of imprisonment.

Recently, in the village of Velyki Budyshcha in the Myrhorod district of Poltava region, a homicide was reported when a son allegedly killed his father, and his cohabitant died under unclear circumstances.
It is worth noting that earlier in Poltava region, there was a case where a man killed a woman in front of a child.
