Military academy cadets have received an increased scholarship.
Cadets will receive increased financial support
Starting from May 2025, cadets of higher military educational institutions will begin to receive increased financial support. This information was provided by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine through the 'Glavkom' portal.
The new decree will come into effect on March 1, 2025, so cadets will also receive increased payments for March and April. Before this, the amount of financial support for cadets ranged from 2,880 to 3,145 hryvnias per month.
After the changes, the minimum amount has increased to approximately a thousand hryvnias, while the maximum has reached 20,100 hryvnias.
The funding for the scholarship increase program is being sourced from the state budget. The highest payments are received by cadets in their final year who have excellent marks from their exams or are undergoing internships.
According to legislation on military duty and military service, cadets of higher military educational institutions are classified as military personnel. This allows cadets to enjoy all relevant rights and social guarantees, including free education, housing, meals, medical care, and other social benefits.
The defense ministry emphasizes that the increase in financial support for cadets is part of the state strategy to ensure proper social protection for youth and to provide additional incentives for choosing military education.
The Ministry of Defense also announced the establishment of the Space Policy Office, which will focus on developing the army's space capabilities, searching for new technologies, and coordinating space support for combat operations.
The adoption of new measures to increase financial support for cadets is an important step in supporting student-soldiers and stimulating their professional activities. Adherence to social standards for this category of citizens will contribute to enhancing the prestige of military education in Ukraine and ensuring proper conditions for their learning and development.
