In Sumy, residents are left without heating due to power outages.
According to ТСН: Due to massive electricity outages in Sumy, pumps and heating stations have stopped, leaving residents without heat.
Acting Mayor of Sumy Artem Kobzar reported that there is almost no material fuel reserve left as it has already been allocated to heat supply companies for generator operation. The situation requires urgent solutions since the tender procedures take too much time, which the city does not have.
Requirements for resources
Artem Kobzar addressed the executive committee with a demand to quickly allocate the necessary resources.
«A lot of requests from the residents of the city of Sumy - due to the power restrictions, the pumps are not working, and thermal energy is not supplied. People are simply freezing. I propose to allocate 10 tons of diesel fuel to 'Teploenergo' and increase the material reserve for the next executive committee».
This decision should provide the heating stations with autonomous power supply in case of a complete blackout or prolonged emergency outages. Additional fuel reserves should serve as a 'safety cushion' to ensure that the pumps have enough energy even in situations where some heating stations are without centralized power supply.
It should be noted that in Ukraine, schedules for power outages have recently been canceled again, and energy workers have introduced emergency electricity outages.
Also, it was previously reported that during the combined attack by Russia at night, strikes were made on energy facilities, particularly in the Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
The situation in Sumy underscores the importance of having reserves to ensure heating during times of energy crises. Rapid response to arising problems is critically important for maintaining the city's life support as well as providing comfort and safety for its residents.
