According to TSN.ua: A Lviv appeals court has upheld the decision to dismiss Professor Yosip Los from his teaching position at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv following harassment allegations. The professor, who had been employed at the university since 1971, was originally dismissed in March 2025, with the termination order taking effect on March 6 of that year. This case is part of a broader, ongoing international reckoning with misconduct in academic institutions.
The harassment allegations became public in February 2025, leading to Los's immediate suspension from teaching duties. In July 2025, the Halytskyi District Court of Lviv rejected his appeal for reinstatement. The appeals court issued its final ruling upholding the dismissal in January 2026.
Professor Los has denied all accusations, labeling them a 'provocation'.
