IAEA: Electricity supply at the Zaporizhzhia NPP has begun to be restored

According to inkorr.com: The Director General of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, announced that the process of restoring external electricity supply to the Zaporizhzhia NPP begins on October 9. This information is provided by 'Glavkom', referring to an IAEA statement on social media platform X.

“After intensive consultations, the process of restoring external electricity supply through the 'Dniprovska' and 'Ferosplavna-1' lines has begun. Although it will still take some time to reconnect the ZNPP to the energy grid, both parties are constructively cooperating with us to achieve this important goal in the interests of nuclear safety and security. No one will benefit from further deterioration of the situation in this regard,” said Grossi.

It is worth noting that on September 23, the Zaporizhzhia NPP experienced its tenth blackout since the beginning of the Russian occupation. Also, on October 6, specialists from the International Atomic Energy Agency recorded several shellings in the vicinity of the Zaporizhzhia NPP.

Satellite research by Greenpeace refutes Russia's claims about the ZNPP

Greenpeace Ukraine presented satellite research that refutes Russian statements about the reasons for the power outage at the Zaporizhzhia NPP. The organization's experts concluded that the loss of electricity supply was the result of deliberate sabotage by Russia, aimed at disconnecting the station from the Ukrainian energy system and connecting it to the occupied network.

The Kremlin intends to conduct a test to connect the Zaporizhzhia NPP to its energy system, therefore deliberately attempting to disconnect the electricity supply at the station.

The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant remains under close scrutiny due to constant shelling and incidents that could threaten nuclear safety in Ukraine. This was mentioned by President Volodymyr Zelensky during a closed conference, where a representative of the publication 'Glavkom' was present.

The IAEA's announcement about the restoration of the external electricity supply at the Zaporizhzhia NPP indicates an attempt to improve the situation and ensure safety at the nuclear power plant, which is constantly under fire. Satellite data from Greenpeace confirm that the problems with electricity supply have Russian origins, indicating attempts by Moscow to establish control over the station. Russia's actions at the Zaporizhzhia NPP underline the threat to Ukraine's energy security and highlight the need for coordinated measures to protect the station and its workers.
