Russia's March 27, 2026 Assault on Ukraine

According to TSN.ua: On March 27, 2026, Russian forces launched a large-scale offensive across multiple Ukrainian regions, striking Kharkiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Sumy, and Chernihiv. The assault caused widespread destruction, civilian casualties, and significant damage to critical infrastructure. This latest escalation underscores the ongoing severity of the conflict, which has now entered its fourth year.

Kharkiv suffered one of the most devastating blows. A nine-story residential building was hit, leading to partial collapse of interior walls and a top-floor balcony. The number of injured in the city climbed to eight. Across the broader Kharkiv region, Russian forces targeted 16 settlements. In the village of Oskil, two elderly women—aged 90 and 67—sustained injuries.

Impact Across Other Regions

In Poltava, the strikes had severe consequences for local residents. Damage to gas infrastructure left 5,040 households without supply, marking another instance of what officials describe as energy terrorism aimed at crippling civilian life.

Kryvyi Rih and the wider Dnipropetrovsk region also came under fire. Artillery attacks there wounded a 17-year-old girl, highlighting the growing threat to non-combatants as violence intensifies.

Sumy region faced nearly 90 shelling incidents in a single day, signaling a sharp uptick in hostilities. In Chernihiv, a 95-year-old man was killed in a strike, adding a grim detail to the unfolding tragedy.

Separately, Serhiy Koretsky reported that since the start of 2026, Russia has attacked Naftogaz Group infrastructure around 40 times, inflicting heavy damage on Ukraine's energy sector. These actions underscore the aggressor's cynical strategy of destabilizing the country by destroying essential systems.

The latest attacks reflect an escalation in conflict and a surge in violence that directly endangers civilians.

The rising death toll and destruction highlight an urgent need for security measures and civilian protection. These events reinforce the critical importance of international support for Ukraine amid ongoing aggression and the necessity of rebuilding battered critical infrastructure.
