Metinvest's Veteran Support Program Wins International Silver Award.
Metinvest Recognized with Silver Award for Veteran Reintegration Program
According to TSN.ua: Metinvest has been honored with an international Silver Award in the "Engagement and Retention" category for its comprehensive program supporting demobilized employees. This initiative, crucial in the current Ukrainian context, addresses multiple needs including rehabilitation, social support, professional adaptation, and training for team leaders to facilitate veterans' return. The company's active work on integrating defenders back into the workforce marks a significant commitment to those returning from the front lines.
The program extends its assistance beyond the returning employees to include their family members. Approximately 11,000 Metinvest employees have joined Ukraine's Defense Forces, with nearly one thousand having already resumed their roles at the company. In recent months alone, over 100 demobilized defenders have rejoined Metinvest, highlighting the firm's efforts to create favorable conditions for veterans transitioning back to civilian life.
Talent Development Program Yields Positive Outcomes
Metinvest's broader talent development program has also delivered measurable results. Staff turnover decreased by 2.2% following its launch, while 20% of program participants were involved in strategic projects. Furthermore, 10% of participants received promotions. These figures indicate the program's effectiveness in improving workplace conditions and boosting employee motivation.
Metinvest continues to invest heavily in its workforce, having allocated over UAH 28 billion since February 24, 2022. The company has also been recognized as a top employer for veterans and engineering students. Tetiana Petruk, a company representative, stated:
"Receiving international recognition on such a prestigious platform confirms that a people-centric approach is not just a declaration for us, but our daily practice."
The program is designed to provide holistic support for veterans and promote their successful return to professional life. Its key focus areas include:
- Psychological and physical rehabilitation
- Social support
- Professional adaptation and retraining
- Preparing team leaders for the return of veterans
- Assisting mobilized employees and their family members
This initiative demonstrates Metinvest's commitment to supporting its employees during challenging times and fostering an environment conducive to their growth and development.
The international award validates the success of the company's efforts in social responsibility and veteran integration. With many individuals returning from military service, such programs are increasingly vital for supporting not only the employees but also their families. Metinvest's ongoing development of this program could serve as a model for other enterprises in the region seeking to address similar societal needs.
