Closure of a Popular Restaurant

According to The Sun: A renowned seafood restaurant with a Michelin star will soon close its doors forever after six years of successful operation.

The owner of the establishment stated: 'There can be no greater pride than what we have achieved during our time here.'

The seafood and wine restaurant opened in late 2019 and received excellent reviews. The restaurant thanked its suppliers and staff in a post on Instagram.

History of the Restaurant

Lyon's Seafood Restaurant & Wine Bar began operation in late 2019 in the Crouch End area of North London. The last day of operation is set for October 4th.

Owner Anthony Lyon moved to the UK over 20 years ago from South Africa and gradually climbed the career ladder in the restaurant business. He held key positions in several well-known London restaurants, such as The Wolseley, HIX Soho, and Roka Charlotte Street.

In 2019, Lyon opened his own seafood restaurant, which quickly gained popularity.

'The restaurant was a true gem, as Jay Rayner noted in The Observer in 2020, pointing out that the offer: 'seafood from head to tail and small batches of wine' hit the mark.'

Emotions About the Closure

On Instagram, Lyon shared his feelings: 'With mixed emotions, we announce the closure of Lyon's Crouch End.'

'Six years ago, we opened the doors of our establishment on Park Road; it has been an incredible journey.'

'We experienced numerous wonderful moments and overcame many challenges, but always with resilience, passion, and dedication to the business and to everyone who came to us.'

Regarding the future, he added: 'Now is the time for change and a new chapter.'

Lyon hinted that he does not plan to return to the seafood business in the future, but 'we are ready for the next stage in both our personal and professional lives.'

The restaurant made it to the Michelin guide for 2025 and was listed among the best seafood restaurants in London.

Lyon thanked his patrons, staff, and suppliers for their support throughout all six years.

'We will take a long-awaited pause to recharge, and when we return, we will decide what the next chapter of Lyon's will look like.'
