The Ministry of Defense reported the number of volunteers recruited monthly.

According to the authorized representative of the Ministry of Defense Oleksiy Bezhevets, about 6.5 thousand volunteers are recruited monthly in Ukraine. He made this statement during the opening of the Ukrainian Army Recruitment Center in Cherkasy.

According to the Ministry of Defense official, more than 10 thousand vacancies are available to citizens in the Defense Forces.

«Including cooks, repairmen, lawyers, UAV operators, medics, and others. Recruitment is possible for all Defense Forces, including the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, and others», - he said.

Currently, more than 17 thousand citizens have applied to the network of centers across Ukraine, which was created by the Ministry of Defense together with state and local government land authorities. They all received consultations from recruitment specialists who underwent special training.

Previously, members of the Rada Committee on National Security, Intelligence, and Defense spoke in favor of lowering the minimum draft age from 25 to 20 years. However, the General Staff stated that there is currently no need for such a decrease.

The Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also issued a directive prohibiting the mobilization of citizens aged 18 to 25 who have limited capabilities.

According to the results of the last six months in recruitment centers, 17 to 20 percent of all citizens who applied with the intention of serving under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine are women.
