Ombudsman appealed to the prosecutor's office over the beating of a mobilized man

Yesterday, the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, appealed to the prosecutor's office regarding reports that military commissars in Transcarpathia allegedly beat a mobilized man to death. Today, the Transcarpathian regional TCC and SC responded.

It is reported that on August 28, the man was drinking alcoholic beverages with his cohabitant and beat her. The woman turned to law enforcement agencies.

After that, the citizen was taken to the 2nd department of the Mukachevo RTC and SC for checking military registration data. It was established that he is subject to conscription for military service, after passing the military medical commission, he was assigned to be sent to a training center team.

«After the publication of the post by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, the leadership of the Transcarpathian OTCC and SC immediately held a working meeting with the Commissioner’s representative in the Transcarpathian region, Andriy Kryuchkov, where this incident was discussed and all necessary information was provided for further interaction», – added TCC staff.

Lubinets received numerous appeals over rights violations by TCC staff

Let us remind you that Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets received more than 1.6 thousand appeals from Ukrainians over the first eight months of 2024 due to alleged violations of their rights by employees of territorial recruitment centers (TCC).

It is noted that from January 1, 2024, to August 13, 2024, Lubinets received 1634 appeals due to violations of rights by the TCC. At the same Time, in 2023, there were 561 such reports.

In the first 6 months of 2024, Lubinets received 1190 such appeals, which is six times more than in the same period of the previous year, when the number of such reports was 198.
