Man Dies at Lviv Region Military Recruitment Center, Suspected Alcohol Poisoning.
Tragic Incident in Lviv Region
According to Novyny.live: A 48-year-old man, Ivan Volovetskyi, has died at a Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support (TCC) in the Lviv region. The suspected cause of death is alcohol poisoning, and an investigation into the circumstances is underway. This case has raised serious questions about procedures at military recruitment centers, which have been central to Ukraine's mobilization efforts since the full-scale invasion.
Ivan Volovetskyi died on February 2, 2026, in the town of Yavoriv. According to medical findings, the cause of death was alcohol poisoning. At 9:30 AM on February 2nd, the businessman was stopped for a check of his military registration documents. During the check, it was determined that he was in a state of intoxication, did not have his documents with him, and was also a wanted person.
Circumstances of the Death
At 10:00 AM, Volovetskyi was taken to the premises of the Yavoriv District TCC. Later in the day, at 1:42 PM, military personnel informed the duty officer that Volovetskyi had taken ill. His death was confirmed at 1:48 PM, with no signs of physical violence. The body was sent for an autopsy to the Yuriy Lypa Hospital in Novoyavorivsk.
Tetiana Volovetska, the deceased's wife, stated that she has no answers about the exact circumstances of the incident and has called for official explanations and a thorough investigation. The investigation is currently ongoing, with details of the case remaining under the control of the relevant authorities.
The death of Ivan Volovetskyi has caused concern among local residents and led to questions about the safety and conditions for individuals held at TCCs. The investigation must clarify whether all necessary protocols were followed during the man's detention and holding, and measures must be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
