Offender tortured the soldier in Odesa for money
According to ТСН: In Odesa, a 22-year-old man tortured his acquaintance, a serviceman, trying to seize money he received for injuries sustained at the front.
This incident occurred in July in the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district. A local resident learned that his 23-year-old acquaintance had received a payout for injuries sustained in battle. The offender decided to fraudulently take this sum.
He began to beat the soldier, demanding money from his bank card. To suppress any resistance, he tied his hands with plastic zip ties. Over several hours of torture, he managed to force the victim to transfer 29 thousand hryvnias to his card.
However, the attacker did not stop there: due to restrictions on cashless transactions, he forced the young man to go to an ATM, where he withdrew and handed over another 20 thousand hryvnias. After this, the offender took the victim to the hospital and disappeared from the scene.
The soldier suffered serious injuries, including a closed craniocerebral injury, a concussion, a broken nose, and other damage.
The police promptly found and detained the attacker, a portion of the stolen funds he spent on his needs. The offender is currently in custody in the detention center.
The police charged the suspect with assault aimed at seizing someone else's property, combined with violence dangerous to the life or health of the victim, committed under conditions of martial law. The offender faces imprisonment for up to 15 years with confiscation of property.
This case is another example of cruel crimes during the war, when people take advantage of others' vulnerability. Law enforcement continues to take measures to prevent such crimes and protect citizens, especially those who have been at the front.
