Woman Faces Trial for Fatal Jealousy-Driven Arson in Ternopil Region.
Berezhany Resident to Stand Trial
According to TSN.ua: A 53-year-old woman from Berezhany will be prosecuted in the Ternopil region for setting fire to a 37-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man, an act motivated by jealousy. The attack proved fatal for the 37-year-old victim, who sustained burns covering 90% of her body. The 42-year-old man, who was also attacked, suffered extensive burns but survived.
The suspect was detained under Article 208 of Ukraine's Criminal Procedure Code. The charges include premeditated murder committed with particular cruelty and attempted premeditated murder. The indictment has now been forwarded to the court, where the 53-year-old woman faces a potential prison sentence of up to 15 years. This case highlights the severe legal consequences for violent crimes in Ukraine.
