NABU Searches in Detective's Case

According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) is conducting an investigation into detective Ruslan Magomedrasulov, who is accused of conducting illegal business with the Russian Federation. The allegations specifically involve the sale of industrial hemp to Dagestan. As part of this case, searches have been carried out at the premises of more than 20 NABU employees.

NABU chief Semen Kryvonos stated that Magomedrasulov has been released from custody and continues to serve in the bureau. The pre-trial investigation against him remains incomplete due to his time in a pre-trial detention center. In the summer of 2025, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) served suspicion notices to Magomedrasulov and his father, Sentyabr, for the sale of industrial hemp, leading to the detective's arrest on July 21.

Further Investigations and Consequences

Additionally, approximately six individuals have received suspicion notices in various criminal proceedings linked to this case. It is important to note that Magomedrasulov is cooperating with the internal control department, and an official internal investigation is ongoing to clarify all circumstances of the case.

This case has caused significant public concern as it touches not only on NABU's internal affairs but also on the highly sensitive issue of dealings with Russia during Ukraine's ongoing war. The investigation could impact public trust in the country's anti-corruption bodies and their ability to tackle corruption within their own ranks. The outcome may determine how effectively NABU can manage internal challenges and ensure the transparency of its operations.
