NABU uncovered a group of MPs: bribes for voting in the Verkhovna Rada

According to ТСН: Detectives discovered an organized criminal group consisting of current members of the Parliament of Ukraine who regularly received bribes for their votes in parliament.

This was reported by the NABU press service.

"NABU and SAP, as a result of an undercover operation, uncovered an organized criminal group that included current members of the Parliament of Ukraine," the statement reads.

According to the investigation, members of this group actively received unlawful benefits for their votes in the Verkhovna Rada.

Actions of the detectives

Member of Parliament Oleksii Honcharenko noted that NABU employees have currently entered the Government quarter. He reported that detectives are conducting investigative actions in the premises of the Parliament Committee on Transport.

Searches and accusations

At the beginning of December, searches were conducted at the home of MP Hanna Skorokhod. As a representative of the party "For the Future", she headed the criminal group. It was established that she, together with accomplices, demanded 250 thousand dollars from an entrepreneur. She is suspected of inciting unlawful benefits through the sanctions of the National Security and Defense Council against competitors of one of the companies.

Skorokhod categorically denies the accusations and insists on the transparency of the process, claiming that the case is a fabrication.

Preventive measure

Shortly afterwards, a preventive measure in the form of bail of over 3 million hryvnias was chosen for her, which has already been paid. The court also imposed a number of procedural obligations on the MP, in particular, she is required to surrender her foreign passport and wear an electronic monitoring device (bracelet).

These events indicate an intensification of the fight against corruption in Ukraine, particularly among politicians. The exposure of organized criminal groups that include elected officials underscores the need for more transparent practices in the legislative process. Investigations are ongoing, and society hopes for real results in the case of cleansing the Ukrainian parliament.
