Mayonnaise: dangers and dietitian's advice

According to ТСН: If you are watching your weight, it's worth limiting your intake of mayonnaise due to its high calorie content and fat content.

This recommendation was given by dietitian Albina Komissarova on her Instagram, where she explained which sauce is better to choose.

“Mayonnaise is usually on the list of the most forbidden products, having it is generally considered 'bad form'. Is this sauce scary? And where does this fear of a specific product come from? Mayonnaise is caloric — that's true. On average, it has 680 kcal per 100 grams of product. However, olive oil has 884 kcal, and butter has 717 kcal,” she noted.

In her opinion, mayonnaise is not a healthy product since it is made from vegetable oil, contains a lot of salt and calories. At the same time, there is nothing in its composition that could significantly harm the body.

The dietitian advises limiting mayonnaise consumption, not buying it daily, and trying to make it at home.

If you aspire to healthier eating, it’s also important to consider giving up white bread — this can be a good start.

It is important to remember that nutrition is not only about restrictions but also about the conscious choice of products that bring benefits. The main goal is to maintain balance and health, so it is advisable to listen to specialists' recommendations and adapt your diet according to your body's needs.
