95% of schools in Odesa are equipped with shelters: how the city protected education during 3.5 years of war.
Practically all schools in Odesa now have shelters equipped with everything necessary for children’s education. According to the city's mayor, Hennadiy Trukhanov, at the beginning of the war, only 2 schools had shelters. However, over the past 3.5 years, new shelter facilities for schools have been constructed in Odesa, and old ones have been restored. Now almost 95% of schools have access to modern shelters with the necessary equipment for learning.
At the beginning of the war, only 2 schools could provide safe offline learning. Now almost 95% of schools meet all requirements, their shelters have modern facilities, modern conditions, and classes are held offline. This is what we have achieved.
Currently, a check of schools in the Odesa region for the presence of shelters is being conducted. Recently, we reported on the cleanup of debris after the shelling of one of the lyceums in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.
The shelters in Odesa schools have been improved and updated, and now practically all educational institutions can guarantee safe learning for children. The city’s persistent efforts have led to the creation of shelters with modern conditions that not only ensure safety but also create comfortable environments for students' education.
