Expert Romanenko: the threat of a new Russian offensive on Kyiv remains relevant.
According to ТСН: Despite the fact that the enemy's main forces are concentrated in the Donbas, the Kremlin does not stop its attempts to capture Kyiv. Military expert, retired lieutenant general, warns that the threat of an offensive from the north remains relevant and depends on the successes of Russian troops at other sections of the front.
According to him, the Russian dictator is convinced that control over the Ukrainian capital is the key to ending the war on favorable terms for him.
"For Putin, this is fundamentally important: if he captures Kyiv and the region, then the issue with the war, as they believe, would be resolved. Therefore, this threat exists, but it depends on what resources Russia has and how long they will last," the expert notes.
The expert also added that it all depends on the ability of the Ukrainian Defense Forces to hold the northern border and on the availability of reserves for the enemy.
It is now important to monitor the developments on the front, as successful actions by Ukrainian troops can influence the Kremlin's plans. At the same time, it is essential to realize that the situation may change, and the enemy's offensive capabilities depend on many factors, including logistical resources and the morale of the troops.
