NATO and EU Discuss Anti-Drone Measures

According to Novyny.live: Recent episodes involving unmanned aerial vehicles near the borders of Russia and Belarus have pushed NATO and the EU to urgently review their defensive strategies. A live broadcast of the program Day.LIVE featured a panel including Vitaliy Kim, Yuriy Podorozhniy, Oleksandr Zyerchykov, Maksym Tkachenko, Yuriy Romanyuk, Maksym Hardus, and Mariia Mezentseva-Fedorenko, who examined the growing need for enhanced drone protection across the Alliance.

Discussions are intensifying around fortifying the eastern flank of NATO against drone incursions. This comes on the heels of several incidents: Ukraine’s Armed Forces struck three bridges in the Kherson region, while drone attacks in Crimea caused explosions and structural damage. Separately, a drone hit the Afipsky oil refinery in Russia, sparking a massive fire.

Drone Incidents and Military Aid for Ukraine

In response to these developments, NATO is considering a new military aid package for Ukraine worth 70 billion euros. Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has already held talks with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. Notably, the manufacturer of the Patriot system issued an alarming statement regarding missile supplies. Meanwhile, after failing to break through to Sloviansk, Russian forces have shifted their main assault axis toward Kostiantynivka.
