SBU attacked a submarine in Novorossiysk: details of a unique operation

According to ТСН: During a special operation of the Security Service of Ukraine, it is likely that there was no direct hit on the Russian submarine of project 636.3 'Varshavyanka' in the port of Novorossiysk.

Military expert Mykhailo Zyrokhov stated on Radio NV that the explosion occurred near the submarine, not within its hull. However, the power of the explosion was such that it caused serious damage.

'It is obvious to me that the impact was nearby — not a direct hit on the submarine itself,' the expert noted.

Source of the strike

According to Zyrokhov, the decisive element of the operation was the means of attack. He suggested that it was not surface naval drones like Sea Baby, but an underwater drone. It could have been 'Marichka' or another underwater drone controlled by satellite internet.

'The accuracy of such devices is currently insufficient for a direct hit on the submarine. However, the explosion occurred in the area of the barriers, and its force was such that it damaged the submarine itself. The injuries were secondary, but the consequences were critical,' he explained.

Earlier, it was reported that the Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Naval Forces, conducted a unique operation in the port of Novorossiysk. As a result of the attack, the Russian 'Varshavyanka' class submarine, valued at about $400 million, suffered critical damage and lost the capability to launch Kalibr cruise missiles.

This operation demonstrates the growing effectiveness of the Ukrainian military in the fight against Russian forces. The loss of a 'Varshavyanka' class submarine complicates the enemy's operations in the Black Sea and underscores the importance of technological progress in the Ukrainian armed forces. By observing this situation, we can understand new strategies being employed by the Ukrainian military and their impact on the course of the conflict.
