Weekend Calendar for 2026: Which Holidays Will Be Official Days Off

According to ТСН: Here is the current list of public holidays in Ukraine for 2026. It includes 11 official holidays:

  • January 1 (Thursday) — New Year;

  • March 8 (Sunday) — International Women's Day;

  • April 12 (Sunday) — Easter;

  • May 1 (Friday) — Labor Day;

  • May 8 (Friday) — Victory Day over Nazism in World War II (1939—1945);

  • May 31 (Sunday) — Trinity;

  • June 28 (Sunday) — Constitution Day of Ukraine;

  • July 15 (Wednesday) — Day of Ukrainian Statehood;

  • August 24 (Monday) — Independence Day of Ukraine;

  • October 1 (Thursday) — Defenders Day of Ukraine;

  • December 25 (Friday) — Christmas.

According to the legislation, all these dates are official days off.

However, during the state of martial law in Ukraine this norm does not apply. Thus, there will be no additional days off after the holidays if they fall on a Saturday or Sunday. Only those holidays that coincide with weekends are considered days off.

This restriction applies to state institutions and enterprises. Private companies have the right to independently decide whether to grant employees additional days off on holidays.

This list of holidays and the message about restrictions during martial law are important for planning vacations and work schedules for citizens. Despite the holidays, businesses must take into account the current realities to properly organize their work in the conditions of war.
