A snowstorm and traffic collapse are expected in Kyiv: what the authorities recommend.

According to ТСН: On Friday, significant deterioration of weather conditions is forecasted in Kyiv, which may lead to traffic jams and increased injuries. The city authorities urge residents of the capital to avoid traveling around the city and not to use their own cars unless absolutely necessary.

This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA).

According to meteorologists, a snowstorm with intense snowfall is expected in the capital overnight and in the morning, and wind gusts may reach 15-20 m/s.

"If staying at home is not possible, we ask you to prefer public transport, be as attentive and careful as possible to avoid injuries during icy conditions."

For those who have to leave their homes, it is recommended to choose public transport instead of private cars, which will help avoid traffic jams and allow snow removal equipment to clear the streets more effectively.

The KCSA noted that municipal services in the capital are working continuously, treating roads and sidewalks with anti-icing agents. However, specialists warn that due to temperature changes and constant precipitation, icy roads may reappear throughout the day. It is impossible to completely eliminate slipperiness on all sections of the city at once, so pedestrians and drivers are urged to be as careful as possible.
