The report used data from the 'Global Peace Index', Numbeo, and average GeoSure Global ratings for major cities across all countries. In addition, a survey was conducted among American travelers who visited various countries in the last five years.

The Netherlands has become the safest country for travel in 2026. It achieved this status due to high ratings in the 'Global Peace Index' and data from Numbeo. The cities of The Hague and Eindhoven also made it to the top 12 of this ranking.
Travelers from the USA find the Netherlands attractive for its healthcare system and safety for women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and people of different skin colors.
