Germany has delivered another Iris-T complex to Ukraine.
Ukraine will soon receive another Iris-T air defense system from Germany. This is already the sixth system of this type, said German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
«Currently, another IRIS-T system is being delivered, I believe today, along with Gepard Spaag, which we continue to supply along with all the ammunition, the production of which we have resumed», – said the chancellor.
It is known that after visiting Ukraine in early December, Scholz announced a new military aid package, according to which Ukraine is set to receive two Iris-T systems, armored vehicles, and many rockets by the end of the year.
In practice, the Iris-T has demonstrated its high effectiveness in Ukraine. This has led to many countries around the world ordering this system for air defense.
According to Scholz, Germany plans to order another 22 Iris-T systems from Diehl Defence GmbH & Co. KG. Of these, 5 will be provided to the Bundeswehr, and 17 to Ukraine.
It is worth noting that it was recently reported that Germany is ready to send its peacekeepers to Ukraine, but details are still unknown.
