The president of Germany's Federal Intelligence Service (BND), Bruno Kahl, warns that Russia may attack NATO countries by the end of this decade. He also noted that collective defense measures may be needed due to Russia's actions against the West.

Kahl noted that Russia's readiness to conduct subversive actions against the West has reached a dangerous level, and one possible scenario for a prolonged conflict could be a direct war with NATO. According to German intelligence estimates, the Russian army will be ready for war with NATO by 2030.

BND claims that Russia is undergoing the largest armed forces reform since 2008.

"The use of hybrid operations by Moscow increases the risk for NATO," said Kahl. He also noted that Putin is testing the boundaries of the West.

According to the North Atlantic Treaty, NATO member states must provide military assistance if one of them becomes a victim of aggression. Since 2016, cyberspace is also considered a war zone.

German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser noted that Putin's regime is becoming increasingly aggressive, and Germany is making significant efforts to combat Russian espionage and subversion.

Recent incidents have heightened suspicions that Russian special services have begun a new phase of shadow war against countries supporting Ukraine. German security authorities are particularly concerned about a July incident when a DHL container on a plane caught fire. This shows Moscow's readiness to appoint human victims.

Deputy head of the Bundestag's intelligence oversight committee Roderyk Kiesewetter warns that there will be active Russian intelligence agents in Germany. Therefore, targeted sabotage and assassinations are possible.
